« on: November 21, 2005, 04:21:50 AM »
Can I leave this post here until someone sees it?
Just Got a Suzuki GS750E
Need forum, Need manual, etc. Anyone ??
(Still keeping the Honda's)

And just for starters, The petcock says RES, ON and PRI.
Is this PRIme ? and why?
(I thought it might be "Hungarian" for "OFF" .....it's not ...the fuel fills the carbs and overflows through the air box. :o >:( >:( ???

Paul,
I know of a very helpful chap in the UK that knows a lot about these bikes.
I will check with him if it is ok for me to give you his email address.
Cheers,
Jim.

Terry from Australia is our resident GS expert, I´m sure he can help. I am sure PRI stands for prime, something to do with the carbs not being gravity fed (vacuum fed instead) and needing the "prime" postioin to bypass the need for a vacuum. My CBX550F had the same typre tap.

Thanks, Girls.
I'm off to play with my new friends now. 8)
In relation to the PRI....They should put a note next to it that says.."Don't forget to turn this off, Otherwise it will Piss petrol all over your van, your workshop and on the sidewalk whilst showing off :P
But now.....I'll never forget. (I cancelled my run yesterday because I thought the carb system was leaking> ::)
Thanks for the GS link, I think I'll loiter over there for a while and ask some silly questions.
Mick, Did you ever get those petrol hose clamps.?

Mick, Did you ever get those petrol hose clamps.?

I did Paul. After hitting all of the auto parts stores in town, the only two bike dealers really close to me I started hitting auto dealers. Went to the two in town then went to the Toyota dealer 20 miles out where I used to do business for my truck parts. The parts guy knew exactly what I was looking for, knew that Toyota has them in the size I needed but wouldn't look them up without an "application". WTF?!?! I can tell you I had an application in mind but it had nothing to do with parts. :'( This same parts guy has sold me the wrong parts in the past. Needless to say they have seen the last of me. Ironically the next dealer I hit was a Subaru dealer owned by the same people. The parts guy there went out of his way to help me. Made a couple of calls and located some at a NAPA dealer just down the road. They were in a box of six with three sizes. As they only had one box and needed four clamps I was halfway there. The second parts store I hit after that had a box with the same selection. Mission accomplished. Two days of aggravation for a foot of 1/4" thin wall fuel line and four spring clamps.
Thanks for that link on clamps. I couldn't find what I wanted there though. Have fun with that GS. It's a bike I often consider looking for.
