Bill, having been with my wife since high school, I can tell you this, your expressions of her existence and impact remind us why we choose (whether we know it or not) the people that we have in our lives. It's not coincidence that you drove the same cars....there was something there that drew you together.

Those cars are gone now but the times you shared in them are not. But those cars are not REALLY gone, it is likely that someone bought it, restored it back to original and it is bringing them all the joy in the world.

It's the same with your beloved Brenda, she may be gone to you, but she is not really gone, she is just in the process of being restored back to original condition to start again in bringing her vibrance and energy to the Universe...........find peace my friend

I want to thank you for your well put response here. We've always felt that things worked out the way they did (about our meeting and the way it came about) WAS an indication that it was definitely meant to be. She even told me years ago that she heard about me on the car radio. Sounds crazy huh?  Well, here is how it happened:  I hadn't been back in Little Rock very long (had just gotten discharged from the Air Force and at that particular time, I was cruizing down Main Street (where there just happened to be the main rock & roll radio station KAAY broadcasting from a remote and pushing the upcoming Razorback Football game. They always had these large posters that I ALWAYS put on each door and decklid of my car) and Brenda said she heard them (at the radio station) say that "Well, We have just seem a car that the guy came all the way from California, just to support the Razorbacks!" Well, that WAS me and I remember hearing them say that as well. BTW, I HAD just previously left Hamilton AFB in California upon being Honorably Discharged. I was out of the Air Force on Aug the 18th of 1970 and actually met Brenda in Sept (the 1st meeting) and again in
Oct (not sure of the actual date, but I know it was around the 3rd, which was her birthday) and that time (like I have said previously) I did everything except "Propose" (I did THAT not too long afterward). I was concerned that I was pushing things, but she accepted and I was the HAPPIEST person you ever saw. I just knew that she was the one for me AND we've been married since Jan 8, 1971. AND, if I had it to do all over again, the story would be the same except, I would do my best to be a better husband to her. She would say that I already did more than enough but, she was just that way. I DID do my best, but I would STILL try to do better. ;)

I'm trying, even though I keep having these mini thoughts, like of when we met (the 1st time), then the 2nd meeting, then some of the things we did & said and so on. Hard to look forward ALL the time, when I've got all these reminders popping in my head.

Back on about page15 of this, I posted that a youngman who we work with, has not wanted to come back to this house, because of Brenda's passing. Well, his mother (and I use that term loosely) brought him here about 7PM and he is going to spend the night. But, he says he is visiting! Says he wants to go with his mother tomorrow afternoon. Brenda and I have taken care of him for 98% of the last 10-11yrs of his life. He's in better shape physically, mentally and financially AND HE wants to go back to THAT woman? He has a meeting at Bost tomorrow and I Pray to God that he sees the light (there will be 2 or 3 people who were involved with helping him gain his departure from HER. Need your Prayers yet again. Seems like I've been asking for them quite a bit lately. Hopefully I can ease up a little. I mean we ALL could use some Prayers now and then.

Tell him you need his help with a few things around the house just to keep him there and busy....maybe he will realize that being there can be a good and healing experience for him and that there are still people in the house that are there for him.

just my 2 Cents

Thank you Paul, It didn't even dawn on me that you hadn't heard. Of course, I'm not sure just who all has posted and/or PM'd me. Sometimes, things just seem a blur and I expect to wake up to find that it was a Really BAD Dream. But, it isn't, it's real and I just will have to live with it and keep those memories alive within me. :-\

Moscow, huh? You be careful out there and get back to us. ;)

Yeah, There are some really great folks here, alright! And I am grateful for ALL the support. 8)

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Thank you Operator, O'll give it a shot. We HAVE tried to let him know that the rest of us are still here AND that we ALL need help getting through this. For some reason he still feels the need to spend nights at his mother's, when it wasn't so long ago, he was estatic when he was able to get out of THAT life with her, upon reaching his 18th B'day. I mean, as we drove away with him in our van, he was literally bouncing off of the walls. He really detested the way that she treated him, which was as if he was a small child AND couldn't do anything for himself. ::) We'll just have to see how it goes.

Take care and Thanks, Bill ;)

I agree James, but I know that different folks handle things in different ways. I AM trying to go on, but I ALSO like to think of all the Good Times that we shared.

I have to say that it DOES help to be able to openly talk about things here, but I AM working on getting on with things. I WOULD rather be working on a bike, but THAT sure won't make it go away. I'm hoping to be able to get things sorted out soon, as I know that I have to keep going, even though she's no longer with me physically.

Droppin back in here again...Im glad to see you are still holding up well man. I know the pain will be there for a long time but just take it a day at a time..Like others have said she may be gone from the physical world but she will always live on in your memories and in your heart.

Yeah, I'm STILL working on Stayin' Strong, but as time goes on, I find more and more tha I look any particular thing and think about the fact that Brenda's Not Coming Back! She had said for quite some time that The Lord will come back (before we die) and take us ALL home. Then My Mom died in Feb 2002, My Sister in 2003, Then her Dad Died in Aug 2005 and NOW, SHE is gone in 2009. :(   My "Being Strong" is a kind of "Hit & Miss" situation.

I KNOW that she will always be there on my Memories and Spiritually, but I am wanting to reach out and touch her and HOLD her. I try to keep busy, which isn't hard, and get things done to make it easier for us.

Bill, my heart goes out to you. I can't even begin to know what you're going through. I'm so sorry to hear this. My thoughts will be with you & your family. Please let me know if there is anything I can do at all. I'm somewhat comptuerless on the coast, but I can still get email. Anything at all just let me know.

Stay strong brother.

Thanks for that Mike, It was just so sudden and unexpected. She HAD been having some problems but, no indication that we were in for this! I'm barely operating on my pc and my email is toast. Got a pc coming and will be operating up to snuff, because of another buddy's assist. I have NO idea what I'd ask. I have had lots of folks here (on the SOHC4) and here at home, tell me that if I need something, just ask... and I have no idea what I'd ask for. I guess the thing I need for now, is someone to talk to, but I'd feel like I was repeating myself because I just miss Brenda like mad and I can't see or talk to her (not in the way I need to talk to her). I'm trying to hang in there. Went to Church today and, right off, there was the piano (she was the pianist) and I knew she wasn't going to be there. Then, I knew that someone else was going to be playing it. Fortunately, the lady who played the organ, played the piano because they hadn't found someone to play the piano yet. Better go, if I don't cut myself off, I might go on and on.

                             Thank you Mike, Bill ;)
