To recap the greeting thread I posted when arriving here, I scored a 73 Honda CB350F complete with title, owner's manual, packing list from the crate, warranty card and original bill of sale for 200 bucks.  All electrics work, it cranks and all I have to do is get the carbs straightened out.  :)  On a side note, I have a pal who would cry at some of these deals.  He wants a bike so bad he can practically taste it, but can never raise the funds to buy one.

Poor guy doesn't have a missus, Sam.  The problem is, he is also kinda lacking in the money management skills department.  I've told him this myself, as I happen to currently be a business major in college (Finally got around to going back, no degree = dead end) but he keeps blowing his money on impulse buys which don't happen to be on two wheels. ;)

Bloody business students! My son is an art student, but knows that there's more money to be made in a "professional" career, in fact there's an art student joke that goes "What did the art student say to the business student?.............. Do you want fries with that?" Looks like I'm gonna die poor, boo hoo! Cheers, Terry. :'(

Hello

I paid $800 (CAN) for my CB750K with 43,000 KM and all original.  The bike needed a rear tire, chain, carbs cleaned, and exhaust (I got a used MAC 4-1 system).  I really love the way it sounds and rides, but I think it looked better with the original exhaust.

Ok the final score is in.
1. 1971 cb750K has nice dent free tank, no seat, motor is a free turner, no carbs, controls and all electrical are there as well as gauges. Has the dual disc front brake mod done to it.
2. 1975 360T. Every thing seems to be there with the exception of the seat. Motor is a free turner.
3. 1971 CB500? free turning motor not tank seat or carbs
4. Honda 19??? Dream -  motor locked up.
5. 197? Honda DOHC 450 free turning motor. Most of the bike is there
6. 197? CB550? free turning motor, has carbs, tank, and most of the goods
7. 1977 Kawasaki KZ 440 mostly intact. Tank is junk-bullet hole in tank.

All of these bikes have nice gauges and handlebar controls

All of these for $60 total

Terry, I was an art student - but only for 5 years - and I have to admit it's all true.....well it was for me anyway, although I never had the get up and go to actually work in McD's. Spent more of my time horizontal, or polishing bikes. In the end I became the UK's first (and probably last) fully qualified Paper Sculptor, and pretty much unemployable.
In the UK anything over 40 years old only needs insurance and Fuel.

G'Day Mark, I read one of your earlier posts where you mentioned that distinction, and because the tone of that post was rather sad, I didn't have the heart to ask you why the hell you decided to be a paper sculptor in the first place? ;D

My son Tim is a talented animator (my father who's now retired, is quite a well known military aviation artist here in Oz, but obviously that talent skipped a generation) and hopefully will find his way into the film industry or print media eventually, but if not, I don't care what he does, as long as he's happy. Cheers, Terry. ;D

These gauges are in nice shape. I have a set of new faces coming for them too. I figure I would re do the ones on the 750, sell them to some lucky soul (was thinking eBay or now... you) and just sell the ones from the 500's for cheap. One of the 500's has a nice set of 2-1 Mac exhaust pipes too.

Are they the "correct" K1 gauges Cheapy, ol' pal? If they don't have the "idiot lights" on the faces, they're not K1, and I've got plenty of later model gauges, they're quite common.

The K1 gauges aren't "rare" like the K0 mega-dollar items, because the K1 isn't particularly collectable, I'd just like to put the "correct" gauges back on my bike? Cheers, Terry. ;D
