350F carb disassembly. Is removing this a good idea?
« on: July 28, 2009, 03:47:09 PM »
This thing appears to have way more spring tension on it that I'd be able to put back on it.  Is it even supposed to come off?  The thing I'm talking about is circled in black.  I am trying to get the rod (circled in red) out to clean it.  I'm not sure how I accomplished this with the last set I did.  Maybe just dipped the whole thing...   ???

I would clean the rust off as best you can and dip the whole thing.  Then hose it down with WD 40.

That is an inconceivably egregious transgression against my rudimentary concordance of socially shunned individuals.

Yeah, I left it be.  This is after snapping one of those bolts that hold it off in my other carb mount...  Not show quality but cleaned up and all passages are clean.

Wow, nice cleanin'  8)

I've never taken that part apart either. Looks like you got it cleaned up well enough without taking it off anyway.
