Vintage Tank Art---OOOH Naughty
« on: August 05, 2009, 07:21:35 AM »
Back in the day,I can say that since I am older :'(,we used to have a couple of local tank painters in the Kalamazoo area that had a reputation,Bud Beebe was one, artists with the airbrush. This tank came from a recent buy-out of some performance stuff and was mounted on his bike.Has hand painted gold pinstripping and actually the detail of the girl is very good, right down to the heavy blue 70's-80's eye shadow. This one was signed and painted by "Kid Callihan",anybody heard of him. Kind of reminds of WW11 plane nose art- If you have any old classics let see them---------Eric

That naughty little vixen!  ;)

I like how the sides of the tank are done....kind of a play on the older tank stripes, but kind of faded in.  That's neat.

bro,
check out the art work on my newly acquired 1976 cb550. 1500 miles.
one of the biggest compulsions for this purchase was the paint on the tank and side covers.

Sweet.
When I was a kid the guy who lived across the way from us had a chopper with nudie tank art. It was a lot nastier than that one!! Used to park it on his porch. I stared at that thing for hours.  :)
Cool guy - got back from Viet Nam, grew his hair & bought a chopper. Peace, brother!

Ekpent, you keep coming up on such sweet stuff, I need to meet some of your local connections darnit. 13ill, don't even think of repainting that stuff, save it and buy used stuff to paint if need be, although I'm into stock bikes, that paint is beautiful.

ooooooh. . . . .pretty

that's a pretty famous piece of sci-fi art - I have seen it somewhere before

I like it as the chica seems all empowered and dangerous. . . he he he  (I have her hair, too. .. lol - not quite the curves though  *sigh*)
