Help...Control Switch info for idiot
« on: August 24, 2009, 01:22:13 PM »
Hey, has anyone ever rebuilt their Control Switches? ('75 CB750K) I had a plan to rebuild/wire my switches. I took good pics before I took them apart and then deleted the pics off my camera before I downloaded them, DUH?!? So, can anyone help me put them back together? Please.

I have found this to be incredibly hard in the past and have ended up just buying new ones.   All those tiny screws, bearings and springs are ridiculous.  I don't think they were made to be rebuilt.

Good luck though!

Lots of things on these old bikes weren't "made to be rebuilt" :) but we do it anyway.

What difficulties are you having Gardner?  I'll be moving my controls onto new handlebars soon so I can snap some pics when I do that.  Won't be for another week or two though.  Maybe someone else has pics that could post them sooner.  What views would be most helpful to you?

Yah, really not that bad.  The worst part is those small parts.  Which side are you working on?  Be sure to place a big white sheet under the work area as you will have some pieces drop on the floor.  It is much easier to find them and they will not roll around much on that sheet.  Here is a pic below that might help jog your memory.  That small spring goes in the plastic contact for the blinkers and the bearing goes in after that.  That bearing is what gives the "click" sound as you put the blinkers on.
