1979 cb650 carburator parts
« on: September 13, 2009, 10:40:00 PM »
OK, and all you Cb650 owners know what I am talking about, but WTF is it
with the lack of Honda support. Very difficult to find rebuild kits. My honda
dealership has them (gaskets ONLY) at $45 a pop. I need 4 new fuel Emulsifier
tubes and they are no where to be found.

Any one got any info on locating these parts. I tried Z1 and they are out of stock
on the rebuild kits. I don't think anyone has the emulsifier tubes.

Are 79 carb parts interchangable with any other years?

Thanks everyone

Dude, you gotta understand that we are working on 30+ year old things.  Imagine a 1979 Ford Fairline.  You think there's alot of aftermarket support?  If I was told correctly, manufacturers are only required to provide replacement items for 10 years after the last year of manufacture.

Try http://www.siriusconinc.com/default.asp for parts.  It's where I got my rebuild kits, but be prepared to pay out the ass for them.

Matt, I know. But its fact that it's far easier to find parts for the older 750's 550's
than it is for the newer 79' 650. Everyone knows this.

Well, the 650s were slightly different every year they were made, too.  Face it, Checkflag, we have freak bikes. :D
