If you want a flat finish on your tank, do you still put some kind of clear coat over the paint job, or just use flat, gas resistant paint?

Best bet would be to use a flat single stage paint. I recommend PPG.

They do make catalysed (sp?) flat urethane clear coat paint. I know Kustom Shop carries some and I'd imagine all the other major paint manufacturers do as well.

catalysed (sp?)
catalyzed
And if you want any real fuel resistance you HAVE to use a catalyzed (two-part) paint.
