Appropriate lid or not??
« on: December 02, 2005, 10:37:51 AM »
Ok chaps, I bought this lid today but I am not sure if it is appropriate for me and my bike? Not that I value your opinions and I will of course ignore them; anyway tell me what you think.
The bike is a 76 F1(red) and  I am of a certain vintage that I remember these bikes first time round!
The lid is AGV with a Union Jack, with a cartoon bulldog on the side, wearing a big spiked collar, he looks a bit like teh bulldog from Tom and Jerry.
Cheers,
Jim.

AGV is a good choice and you`ll definitely be noticed more than just wearing a black helmet.
I wear a Fulmer that`s red , white and silver...I want to be seen.
Think I just found my next helmet though......haha  yeah the wife is gonna love this ::)

Anyone who rode in the 70's will remember the AGV "Ago" helmet. It was the one to have.

Not sure about the neck spikes though.

Wear it on Sunday and we'll see if anyone notices (mind you, most of them will be wearing red "Santa" hats or antlers over their crash helmets.

Stephan,
That's one the wife would not approve of, she wasn't that keen on the AGV one! but my daughter liked it.
Steve,
I have to pick it up from Heine Gerricke next to Infinity tomorrow, assuming DHL deliver it? I agree, the one thing I am not sure about is the neck spikes!

I don't much like it. Too many ugly colors.

There is no Kawasaki Green anywhere on that helmet. That would be totally unacceptable. Even on my Honda.

Obviously SteveD needs to add to definitions/translation list.
A lid is a helmet; it comes from 'skid lid'
'Taking the piss', means to make fun of someone; not sure where this come from.
So, lets see pics of your helmets. I never thought I would be typing that! (purple helmet, I assume we all know what that means?)

Spit on the inside of the visor and smear it around.  Hey, if it works for snorkelers and scuba divers?

I have used the washinbg up liquid method before and it works ish! Hopeflly it won't foam up when it does start to mist?
I am also looking for a proprietary product, but my experience is that they don't work very well.
