Goodbye, goodbye, I'm leaving you, tiddly pom................
« on: December 09, 2005, 06:03:47 AM »
Well, chaps, thanks to my 650 Custom being sold and moving to pastures new, I'm sad to say that I'll no longer have an SOHC4 :-[.

But, before I go, I'd like to say BIG thanks to Glenn, for his efforts in keeping us all in check during the year, to Terry in Oz, Raul and others too numerous to mention for your help, advice, and above all, some of the best humour I've come across in a long time.

Gentlemen, it's been (as they say) an honour and a privilege!

A very happy Xmas to you all and a safe and prosperous 2006.

Cheers

Hey man, I'm flattered that you mention my name. Lately I post more jokes than technical stuff, but as the old saying goes, "the ones that get the promotions are the ones that are seen more frequently, and you can't be seen if you are in your cubicle, working..."

You'll be back...

Raul,

Nothing personal, sad but true. However, as a manager, er former, I always looked for the ones who were in their cubicle, they were the ones getting the real work done.  ;)

Ian

Once you've had a CB and sell it, you regret it.  Took me 15 years or so before I was able to correct my mistake.  Take care, and let us know when you get your next CB in the spring ;)

Bob, there is another saying in Spain: "The promotions are given to the ones who wear the nicer ties", that is, you have to dress for success.

I was just joking, in the meaning that it seems like I'm around the forum, but the real experts pass unadverted, like Mike Rieck or Bryan Jones or even Terry is a big wrenchhead. Anyway, back to the thread, I feel these old bikes are addictive. People tend to feel attached to the things that cost more effort, and with all the time that it takes to have a SOHC in shape -and it's nothing compared to other bikes-, you learn to appreciate when your 30+ year old bike start at first or second kick..

Ian,
Good luck.
I have put you on the email list, you won't get many a year; but at least you'll know what is going on on the UK.
Cheers,
Jim.

Hang onto a spare part. A or a plug or something.
Then you can say you still have a Honda... but it's missing a few bits.
Then you can come on and talk about "No spark" or adjusting the gap  :P
Paul.
It hurts to admit when you've made mistakes, But when the're big enough, the pain only lasts a second
