I bought a '77 CB550 on June 6th, after battling with the carburetors for a few months I finally got it running, I bought the bike originally for $200, and spent roughly $100 on it. enjoy the pictures, and tell me what you think.

Holy Cow.  I recently spent $175.00 on a rusted, throttle stuck, choke stuck, broken turn signal, no battery, gas poured out of the carbs, flat tire, non-original paint...you get the picture...1977 cb750 K Four.  I am green with envy.

Very nice. It's surprising how many low mileage bikes are sitting around out there.

I just bought a 78 CB550K for $100 almost identical to yours but much rougher. Are the pipes and mufflers in good shape on yours or is there a few rust thru holes? How are the outside rubber intake manifolds from the airbox to the carbs. They go bad too. I am having a hard time finding a piston for the fron caliper. Honda wants $100 for it and I only paid $100 for the whole bike. Not going to do it. Where it Michigan are you. I am in Marshall, I-94 and I-69.

My friend bought a '72 cb350t,
I rode it, and immediately wanted a vintage honda, i was as surprised by the deal as you fellas are... My dad found the bike for me, I was supposed to buy the bike for $800, but the PO realized it had been sitting for longer than he thought, and it wasnt running, so he dumped it on me for $200, there are no rust through holes, which i was very suprised at. The only problem with it was the carbs were real dirty, the tanks was a little rusted, but i took care of that. Now i just need some new tires. thanks for the feed back. ;D

Le,

WOW! nice score!!  YOU SUCK!! And I mean that in the nicest possible way!  ;D

There is a vintage bike show at the Gilmore Car Museum over on this side of the state in June, I think.  Definitely consider riding 'er over for the Vintage Ride and maybe enter 'er in the show!  Here is info on last year's show:

http://www.gilmorecarmuseum.org/html/event_details.php?event_id=7&

And pics of the bikes that went on the ride:

Steve,

I'm on the East side of BC, Verona area.  Lets ride sometime!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

I lived there up until last winter, I was living with my brother. Near the elementary school, I think its hoover. His house is right behind where Franks Nursery and Crafts used to be. North of 5 mile, just a few houses west of levan.

If you saw a bike ripping around that area this past summer, it was probably me! ;D

Oh, and you got ONE HELL OF A DEAL on that bike!!!

I am in well over a grand! But I have done a lot to her... new rings, tires, chain, sprockets, handlebars, grips, seat cover, rebuilt m/c and caliper, ss brake lines, rear-sets, de rusted tank, POR 15'd it and having it painted, points condensers, clutch cable, throttle cables, H4 headlight conversion, and the list goes on and on.

It's like an addiction, so don't expect to not spend any money on it... cuz you will!!!
