Forum access problems today??
« on: December 12, 2005, 05:47:18 AM »
Anyone else had problems getting on to the forum this morning? The site was down for 2-3 hours this morning; or at least I could not get in, but I could access all the other sites that I visit.
Jim.

Same here.  I wasn't able to get to the forums until about 20 minutes ago, and I was starting to have withdrawl symptoms. :'(

Yes.  It was intermittant yesterday and down most of this morning.

There used to be a little window (top right) with messages where Glenn sometimes posted an explanation.

Glad it is back up. Now I can tell the wife I did something useful today. ;D

Terry,
what the heck do you need doors for? It never gets below freezing where you are
right?

Harry sent me email this morning to let me know that the forums were down.  I checked things out and made a very minor change (made a 1 a 0) in one of the configuration files and the errors went away.  I had made some minor changes earlier in the day on Sunday to get the news box to show up with the link to the frapper site; maybe that had something to do with it - why it took 10 hours to cause the forums to crash is a puzzle, though.  No worries, we're back in action!

I wish - it's down to -3 Celcius tonight in still air - if the wind decides to get excited, we'll be down even lower.
What you should realise is that, if the Weather Forecasters even _mention_ snow, the whole damn country stalls....
Last snow we had (5 inches - Ha!), even the grit trucks were snowed in.

You just need more snow, more frequently to become accustomed.  ;D The kids live in Columbus, OH, only about 200 miles south of us. Two inches of snow paralyzes the place.

I would have thought about having withdrawls but my wife assures me I spend way too much time here.  ::)
