Bubba,

If you haven't started building your frame yet I would consider loaning you my Seeley frame

More Dresda frame pics (courtesy of azuredesign http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=65415.0). Slightly different to the other frame I posted, doesn't have the extra bracing between the head tube and the down tube.

Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.

Does anyone know if you had a Honda frame built out of chrome moly tubing, the same specs as stock, would it be much stronger/better?

Mick

the primary benefit of chrome-moly is that it is stronger, and thus thinner wall tubing can be used and it will be lighter. the heat affected zone from welding will be brittle, and the entire piece will need to be "normalized" or uniformly heat-treated then re-hardened. bicycle frames are commonly brazed and TIGed without heat treatment, but i wouldn't trust a motorcycle frame not to develop fractures form the heat affected zones.

I'm also considering (somewhat) a frame build. Re-read a little of mec's egli build and he stated he used ST37 (apparently a german/euro term? is this what is known as A283 in the states?) for the frame. Also stated he used tig to weld. Any reason you can't mig with similar starting materials?

on photobucket, theres a drop-down menu that appears when your mouse is over the desired photo with different options for posting. I use the IMG code. Just get the IMG code selected, copy and paste directly into the reply and your pic will appear when you either Preview or Post.

Mark, when you're in photobucket, click and copy the bottom of the four HTML links listed beneath each photo. Paste that here.

Btw, you can also add a picture as an attachment on the forum. (Which I like as there is nothing worse than finding an old thread and seeing those "Image no longer on Photobucket" messages.)

When you are drafting your post there is an expandable section underneath labelled "Additional Options..." that allows you to add the pic, in the same way that you add an attachment to your webmail. Just need each pic to be under 256KB.

Yes, of course I have posted directly onto site but these pics were all small enough to be allowed on. Trouble is I have some pics that are too big in data size...that I am trying to load from photo bucket. My son will be home and he is a wizz  at this...I will ask him.
