Basement find
« on: October 11, 2009, 02:30:51 PM »
I found this CB750 while cleaning out some shelves in my basement.   Has a nice set of cafe bars on it but it looks like I need to find a seat. ;D  Matchbox dated 1977  no.33

Too bad it's not a Sandcast. :)  They don't seem to have much value in this shape without the box.  Maybe I will have to keep an eye on Ebay for a parts bike with a good seat. :)

That bike is NOT stock. What the hell, they were making cafe racers out of these bikes back in 1977?

My wife has one in her office on a trailer; but I thought it was earlier than '77.  Have to check to see if it is the same.  Sorry, don't have any spare parts for it.

Is that the one on the yellow trailer that looks more like a DOHC cafe or racing bike.  A bunch of them on ebay.  It would make a great desktop paperweight.

Yep.  Too small for a paperweight.  Just cool.

Andy, I've never seen those.  Very cool.

The little boy in me misses playing with Matchbox.  We had a great floor that they rolled well on.   ;D
