Older forks on a '78 550K

I am thinking about swapping out my front forks for the earlier style with the rubber boots. This is just a matter of looks for me, I want it to look more like a Triumph. Is there any real advantage to the newer forks that will be lost?

I don't think so.  You will need the headlamp "ears" to go with the gaitors.
