Custom Front Fender
« on: November 23, 2009, 06:40:21 PM »
I'm in the first stages of getting my bike ready to paint. I'm planning on making a custom front fender from an old extra fender I have laying around. It will involve some cutting but will still be useing the origional mounts. My question is, how do you go about making a templet for this? I have the design I want already thought out but am stuck on how to draw this out on the fender so I can make my cuts. Once the fender is complete I will be stripping the chrome off so I can paint it. Any thoughts on this guys?

draw your design out on a tranparency, trim the edge and trace the design onto the fender ( or shoot some spraypaint on it) It'll work with paper but transparency is easier to position correctly.

Another tip is to cover the fender in blue painter's tape, then draw your design and cut away!
