I removed my tire to send the wheel/brake to RaceTech to have the brake arced. What I discovered is that with the new wider rim, the drop center is much wider than a stock rim. The rim strip can slide to the side in the channel and expose a large part of the spoke nipple to the tube.
I know I've seen wider rim strips but am having trouble finding one. I was thinking, to center the narow rim strip to cover the nipples, run a strip of electricians tape on both edges of the rubber strip to hold it in place, then finish off with one wrap of 2" electricians tape which will completely fill the channel.
Comments, suggestions, warnings on using tape?
