Hush's new drive

OK so most of you will know that my trusty and much loved Nissan Silvia cooked its self a few weeks back.
I have just bought a replacement for Silvia, a 2005 Suzuki Swift, cute as a button and handles amazingly well for a granny shopping cart. ;D
Jaffa loves it, in fact I didn't get to drive it for the first week it arrived and she still steals it whenever she can.
I don't feel a complete idiot in the wee Swift as we fully track race them here so I'll just kid myself it's a race car not a shopping basket with a wheel on each corner. :D

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Cost me $13,000 (Kiwi) and I bought it on the internet as it was still being shipped from Japan, we get heaps of our cars as second hand low mileage Jap vehicles.
The Aussies protect thier own car manufacturers (Ford and GM)by pretty much banning jap imports but we have no car factories anymore, they all closed down in the 80's so we don't care.
This will be my 4th Jap import, the Nissan (God rest her soul) was a direct import in 2003 as was the Honda Ascot in 1998 and my Mazda Cosmo back in 1992.
I reckon I get 6 good years out of an import before they blow up on the motorway, as all 3 have done. ;D
I still don't get to drive it much though...maybe I should buy Jaffa one of her own? ;)

Hi Hush, they don't ban them they just put tariffs on them but thats all coming to an end, they are reducing or dropping the tariffs soon apparently....Still, there are plenty of Imported Imprezza's and skylines running around here, a friend of ours imports them by the dozen...

The bottom one Bill, it was a driver education car in Japland and never left a multi story building so it was immaculate throughout.
I asked one of my Japanese Karate friends if he could read the faded decal images, he at first said he couldn't understand it...yeah right!
But he finally read DRIVER EDUCATION along both sides. ;D
Interestingly it had a set of brake peddles on the passenger side too.....ha ha.....mother-in-law brakes. :D
