That's odd.. I was able to get points from my local Honda dealer. They keep them in stock even!
I had a Dyna-S on my 750, but after 3 years it started to act up when it got hot, causing one set of cylinders to randomly miss. I went back to points and no more problems. If your coils are in good shape, all battery and coil connections are clean and tight with minimal voltage drop and you take your time setting up the points properly, you should have an excellent-running bike. I am seriously looking at going to a HondaMan ignition, as it gives the best of both worlds.
