« on: January 03, 2010, 05:40:10 PM »
what is the difference between 550 and 750 fork tubes?  can 550 tubes be used in 750 trees and lowers? are 550 tubes shorter than 750s?  i need undersized fork tubes at least 1 under prefer -2s, and cycle x is out and has been out for a while and i dont have $250 laying around for Franks tubes, thanks everyone.

you would have to use the valve body out of the 550 and the tubes of a 550 in the lowers of a 750. the seals are the same cause they're both 35mm, but the inside is different.
also, using 750 springs will stiffen up your ride on the 550.

the stock 550 tubes are just a bit shorter, like maybe an inch or 2.
I think... don't quote me on that last part.
everything I say is pure speculation and
I have no idea what I'm talking about  ._.

Ok, thank you. maybe i will just use the lowers from the 550 with my springs and a 550 disc on my wheel, or just wait till cycle x gets tubes again, thanks again.

what are you trying to do?  why would you use a 550 disc on your 750?

someone told me that the caliper wont line up with the rotor if i use a 750 wheel in 550 lowers because the 750 disc is larger or something, i got a line on a set of 550 forks so i guess i will find out.

Front hubs are the same, just use the 550 disc.
