I have a seat pan that fits a 78 750 but it is not stock :'(  Its aftermarket king/queen that probably won't fit the OEM foam and cover.  If the damage to yours is not that bad, you could use a wire brush and fiberglass to fix yours.

the right front corner is completely rusted off on minet but you have me thinking. i have a k&q for  76 i thought i could make work but didnt, i do like the fiberglass idea though. i would like to keep the stock looking seat as im not a huge fan of the king seat.

Yeah, the only reason I'm still tripping over the k/q is that no one ever takes me up on that offer  ;D.  It may become the base for a solo/cafe seat someday.

If you are close to Charlotte you are welcome to use my gear to weld up your seat pan.  Another (little bit hillbilly) idea would be to cut out the rust and rivet a metal patch in and/or use panel adhesive or epoxy. All you'd need for that repair would be hand tools, and provided you make a good overlap it should be strong.  SEM makes a good panel adhesive:

Hey Masterchief!...I just read your post.  I have a seat that I wont be using from a 78K, if it could finance some of my cafe seat I'd probably part with it.... although, shipping from Canada would probably kill the goat....they're rather large and heavy (you'd get the whole seat).

I just checked...and it'd be min. $60 to ship to TEXAS...not sure where you are...but just for a reference.
Anywho....just a thought.  Cheers!

For the K models, doesn't yamiya have them brand new?  If you are talking about an F model though...I have no idea where to get them or if they are even being re-popped.

I had to buy 2 seats to get one decent one.  The problem with seats is that you often can't tell just how bad they are until you get it in you hands and look it over....I have one made of swiss cheese while the other has only light surface rust which will clean right up.

Good luck in your quest.

Ebay sucks doesn't it?  I swear the searches turn up different things at different times.  Anyway here's the link...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-CB750-SOHC-77-78-SEAT-PAN_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem33599229cfQQitemZ220546083279QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

or search on ebay item # 220546083279

Would be nice if he showed a pic of the top.  There are 5 days left on the auction, still time to e-mail him for more pics...

Good luck,

Matt
