Genuine Honda Parts in the GTA
« on: January 29, 2010, 05:21:40 AM »
A call out to all the Toronto area riders out there.  Just curious as to which dealers you use for honda parts.  I'm having a hell of a time finding anyone who is willing to find or order me vintage parts.  I hand them a list of part numbers and their faces contort into an expression that can only be described as Fart Face, then they say, "oh you can't get that anymore, try the internet."  So recently i have been buying parts off the internet, but i know there are dealers out there who have the parts i need, or at least are willing to order them.  So who do you use?  TIA

Hey man I used to live in High Park area of TO. There is a cool shop over there that deals with old bikes called Cycle Workx. I've had good experience there with my 74 550. They are really nice but get really busy in the spring/summer. I also go to a Honda bike dealership and order stuff right from the counter. Sometimes they even have stuff in stock. If I don't have the part number they usually hate looking it up on the microfiche.

What kind of bike do you ride?

I second Ready Honda. If you order in the morning they will have the parts that same day. As a bonus some Honda parts seem to be cheaper in Canada than in the USA.

I have used Snow City cycle on Kennedy north of Lawrence pretty much anything I have asked them for they were able to order. I have also bought parts from Cycle World on Sheppard but not sure if they have a true Honda license but they do seem to stock a lot of things like cables etc that fit.

When you say GTA, where abouts in particular are you?

I am in Whitby but work in the heart of T.O. so I have also used the new Honda dealer in Whitby

nosepick, i'm riding a 75 cb750F Supersport...well it's a little cold so technically i'm just fixing her up right now.

dennis,  I'm in richmond hill/aurora area for the record.

Roger at Snow City, very patient, send him a email with parts list, he will get back to you.
Sandy is also good (part owner nice woman just very busy)

I went to Snow City to have my KM100 kawi fixed when i was 17, then moved away now 46 and went back for Yamaha parts, Sandy served me both times LOL

They also have a fiche machine!!

I always seem to get the lady that works the parts counter but I can't recall her name. Always very willing to help and never rolls her eyes when I don't know the part number on a 30 year old bike! Never had a bad experience at Snow City....except I am not a huge fan of going to scarborough!

I no longer have a sohc currently but will be around this summer on my CX500. Maybe we could organize a Durham ride up through Port Perry and maybe a stop in at Haugens?

I  have a cb400f which i am just starting to restore (just took the head/barrels off last night.
I gotta put a camchain in it and fix the buggered tensioner bolt in the crankcase.

That sounds good, BUT i will be on my RD350LC if you don't mind the smoke LOL.

That sucks about Snow City, i priced some parts from them a couple of months ago, and they were really helpful with my yamaha restoration, too bad!!

I have dealt with Ontario cycle salvage for 25 years and are very good, BTW if you want someone to work on your SOHC the mechanic there is Trevor Nelson, and very good, and loves the old stuff ( i actually worked with him when i was at a Honda dealer in the eighties)
I have dealt with David Silver, but the postage is crazy,  i got a complete exhaust from them (don't ask!!$$$) I actualy think i got the last one.I now get parts from them and sent to N.ireland (going over in June, and September)

I think I will hang on to this thread and see if I can set something up come May or June.
