Too bad they probably wont be making it anytime soon. BMW said that they may bring the engine platform in to production but as a touring bike, not a sport bike.

Well, I ride a BMW...

Maybe a new thread idea, but can anyone explain to me why new bikes lie this don't interest me in the least?  Arrested developement?  Locked in a time warp (whatever that is)?

Look right above your profile pic...see where it says, "old timer"?   ;D

Personally, concept vehicles never appeal to me more than the "That's an interesting art piece," because I know they rarelly even make production in anything close to that form.  Even then, I probably wouldn't even end up buying one.

This bike does look pretty slick, though.

Looks kinda cool, but the only BMW I would add to my stable and still not replace my R100/7 is this:

Has been posted before on this forum...but I have that one saved because it's freaken awesome.

Time for BMW to hop on the retro bandwagon I say.

1984 Honda MB-5 - MB-8 conversion in process
2001 Ducati 748 - Built 996 motor sleeper

Ernie, you old timer, you need to get out more.

Personally the body styling is a bit to modern for me, but I'd like to hear what
that 6 sounds like. If it's anything like the BMW sixes in our cars well now, that would be great.

Personally not my cup o' tea. I used to like Bimmers a lot. The first bike I owned was a '54 R67. Something like this...

I liked most of them through the mid 80's and some after that...and one or two recent ones but basically BMW lost me a long time ago. Like so many manufacturers they started building for what they perceived the market to be, rather than just building bikes.

That Bimmer is one of the bikes that I would seriously consider buying a basket case with no title, just to rebuild.
