relocating electrics under tank. is this spot too hot?

anybody had problems with this mod? just seems to be alot of unsused space under there.

Well coils do ok but for less robust electrics you might want some sort of heat shield at least. I would probably try under the seat.

i agree under the tank gets really hot... under idle he is right under the seat is much better

I run my micro digital ignition box under the tank. Trick is to keep it on top of the frame rail (loads of space) and underneath it, cut a pice of plumbers solder mat and tie wrap that in place. Plumbers solder mat is a ceramic weave matting that stops heat transfer when they solder up copper heating/gas pipes. It's very cheap from the local hardware store (well it is in the UK) and can be used all over a bike - for example on the inside of fairings that are close to engines or exhausts...

i imagine something like the high temp Dynamat might work ok too, but not as inexpensive as the plumbers mat that LMP suggested

i think i'm gunna try that with my HID ballast i seem to of fried mine :( now my headlights dont work :(
