It looks really close to the one on my '69 (68) CL350. Very close.  :) Does it have any #s stamped on it anywhere?

I don't think typing the word "this" helped him much. Can you give more info?  ;) There is no link there. I'm curious what it is from too.

I took a look on ebay for pics that might match, I came up with the kawasaki 2-strokes like the t500 titan which isn't an exact match either.  I wouldn't be surprised at all if it wasn't a honda part at all.

Oh, but now that I look, no, notice that the area around the forks is not formed similarly.
The angle and width looks similar, and it has the little cush thingies, but no, not a 350t, I dun think, on reflection.

Yeah Mark I was looking a bit ago while at work and I think mine is wider at the forks. It's close, so maybe a smaller cc bike along those lines?

It looks like CL/CB 350 to me, pre disc brake.. cant say if 450 used it pre 70.

If its not 350, it could be maybe 175...

Not CB450 as they had guages in headlight bucket during this period and this piece has gauge mounts on clamp.  Looks like CB350 until you look close at the raised round area around the area where steering stem nut sits....that is not Honda.  Kaw possibly.

I have added a pic of the triple in question and a CB750 triple for comparison. Might generate some more ideas. Honda? Kaw? All the other parts in the box were Honda.

kos. the 550 and probably 500 4 has same raised boss...

If you are selling the tree list like so "cb/cl 350 ? ?", and list a measurement between the  tube centers, that way if its not 350, you wil know pretty quickly..

I can't think of any honda I've seen that doesn't let the fork tubes pass through the clamp. it seems like that one would rest on top of the tubes.

Sure does look like yours Mikey. Correct, they do not pass through the tree on my part here. Have you got any idea what years that tree works on? Late 60's early 70's?

Hmm, it does not have round raised portion by the stem nut, but 550s do!.. could be 160 or 175 ?

To anwer how they work..the tube has a threaded in top, this past the threads has a reduced diameter or snout.. that fits into the tree, but stays below top of hole. The chrome nut, draws it all tight.. used on many bikes.. WideGlides use it too.. to mention another example.

Honda forks in the 60s were a lot different, if you want extended tubes on say the CL shown, your springs would be on the outside of the fork, and a chrome collar clamps to tube to hold spring.. unless you run extended covers...

... things were different back then..
