Topic: project dirty nikki

i had posted about 1 1/2 weeks ago of a 73 cb750 i got it was pretty much a bare bones bike. i thought about the cafe thing but then i already have one of those. i have always wanted a slammed out chopper so this is what i came up with. her name is dirty nikki

Looks like a pretty cramped place to sit....with some forward controls and mini ape bars it will be fine though....

what kind of frame is that?  looks cool so far!

its a stock frame that has been raked and a hardtail welded on. with 4'' over tubes.

well my poject is going right on schedule. my only problem is i think my girlfriend "accidently'' threw away my seat springs. that i was going to use. but wont admit to it. but i had some others that will get me by. here is a updated picture i changed out the back tire with another i had with white pinstripes.

Man, that bike is raked so far that it's nearly sitting on its a$$!    Sweet!  Love the Ape Hangers, too...

Nice to see a classically executed Chopper coming to life. Back in the ancient days of yore when I was a child ('60s and '70s), this was the only way a real "Chopper" was put together; by chopping up an existing frame and welding it back together again in a different configuration. Nowadays, people seem to think that "Choppers" are built from scratch in stainless steel buildings where people yell at each other.  Thanks for proving them wrong.

I'll definitely keep up on this.

thanks guys. and yes it is sitting pretty low on the ground my exhaust will just make it without scraping i will just have to watch going over speed bumps.it is definitely a rat bike now. the rear fender is off a sporster i had to cut up to make a flat fender.today i'm going to tackle wiring, kickstand modifications, and building my seat brackets. hopefully it will be running by next weekend.

IMHO...ride it as a rat bike for awhile, get the kinks sorted out, and then do a teardown and resto.

It's a good lookin' chop....can't wait to see the pipes!

Keep an eye on those seat springs; I heard they fracture routinely. Something to do with only being one coil rather than several.

updated pic i go get my lines for my oil tank tomorrow along with fresh oil and filter, hook up my cables,exhaust,and hopefully start up the old gal tomorow night. if i don't work that is. darn snow is flying here.we are supose to get up to 6''. all my wiring is done everything works as it should.my ape hangers where bent so i went these low bars from a 77 cb550.made my own sissy bar now i'm ready to hit the pavement.

I like the look of that bike James but you ain't going round corners with those pipes mate....Some wrap around pipes that fit in along the side of the bike aronnd the hight of the oil tank would look cool and greatly improve ground clearance.

Anyone running high or shotgun/scrambler style pipes on their 750's?

well i managed to raise my exhaust a little bit higher. i'm going to put my other wheel back on the tire on it is about 1 inch taller so i should have enough clearence for the pipes the tank gets painted in a cuople of weeks yellow gold metallic with gold flake and a chick wearing a somebero holding 2 pistols  it's going to match my 71 buick lowrider. the only set back now is a kick stand. and also on the front sprocket should there be a cover on it.to me it seems a little dangerous as it sits. i can see a pant leg getting hung up real quick.
