battery post repair?

here is a stupid question? i was remounting the battery on the bike and when i retightened the negative battery post 1 side  of it started to break off but hasn't completly can it be soldered back together or is it pooched? they are led posts aren't they so what else can it be welded back together with?

If the post has broken away from the wiring inside the battery...pooched!
However, if that connection is still good and the post has broken away from the battery housing, use epoxy.
If the post itself is cracked or broken, try soldering but you would need quite a bit of heat and that could melt the battery housing.
Having connected and disconnected many batteries, I'm trying to understand how the post broke.
Was the nut cross threaded or corroded or something?

If it is still attached to the battery plates you could rig it. Picture your rigging fails some distance from home. Even if you have a kick starter you are stuck since these bikes need battery power to energize the coils for starting. We do not have magnetos.

It has not broken away from wiriing or battery but rather on one side of the post where the screw that hlods the cable goes through the side of the post started to break i think i over torqued the damn screw duhhhh blonde moment i guess......

would jb weld work on a battery post to keep it from breaking the other side when i tighten the terminal down....

you could use a blow torch carefully to melt it back together - not difficult just fiddly..

stay away from the fumes though...

For automotive/industrial they make a little cup you fill with molten lead.
 I'm sure you could find someone who does their own bullet making who could help out?

I would not use a blow torch! Watch out for explosion!

How about just using a Wen soldering gun to just tickle it a bit on the side it is broken?
Wait for the tip to get very hot and then you could build it up a bit as you go with solder.
