Can't leave buyers negative feedback on ebay?!!! WTF?!
« on: March 05, 2010, 06:45:35 AM »
So some idiot won a truck I was selling on ebay. Won't respond to e-mails, ebay messages...etc. It's been over a week now so I go to leave negative feedback...and it's not possible anymore?!

That's absurd.

Sure didn't realize that. So, how is the seller supposed to react and DO, in a case like that? ???

Go to the resolution center on ebay and open a case on them. This is the only thing you can do. You can get your "fees" refunded to you and Ebay will put a "strike" against the non paying bidder (IE- Ebay will slap their wrist and shake their finger at them while saying '"No, No").

Yeah I already opened case against them...but to me the feedback system is pointless now. Why even bother. I was considering making a positive feedback note but putting this in the field "NEGATIVE...etc etc"

If i'm selling larger dollar items and vehicles...which I have a few to sell the next month or two to help cover medical stuff. I want to know if the people bidding like to bid on stuff and not pay. Now there is no way for me to see that.

The seller is the trailer trash on ebay, the buyer holds all the cards been that way for a few years.

You can get yourself in trouble by placing a neg. feedback under the pos. feedback guise.

The feedback means nothing now. Neither does their Detailed Seller Ratings (Star) rating. Anything less than a 4 "Star" rating is a failing grade in Ebays eyes.
Ebay has really dumbed up their once nice site by the "upgrades" over the last few years.

Their newest "upgrade" that starts in the next month or so is "no listing charges for auction items starting for $1 or less".

If you haven't gotten tired of all the "Asian" sellers and all their cheap crap copies of everything, YOU WILL.

The other problem with craigslist is people not understanding what the term "FIRM" means. That means the price is non-negotiable. Don't drive from NJ to see a truck i'm selling then be upset I don't take half of the asking price. No matter how often I say it, even before people drive it doesn't matter.

I've got a feeling that if you get a case opened and closed in your favour in resolution centre on ebay it then opens up the possibility of negative feedback. Been a while since resolution centre didn't scare a buyer into paying up for me but I recall that's how it now works.

Ebay has gone really dumb with the latets upgrades and the fees are getting higher and higher. I tried to move to ebid but it just doesn't have the coverage to be able to compete in a half decent way.....shame. Oh and of course ebay own Paypal so they screw you at both ends of the transaction.  ???

Yeah, well we all know that EBay and Paypal screws us, but we still use them, so who are the losers again?  ::)

I sold a few items on EBay recently, was hoping to get 6 or 7 hundred bucks all up, but I ended up getting 1600 bucks, woohoo! Sadly the buyer of two of the bigger ticket items, a newbie, had a change of heart, and didn't pay. I opened an "unpaid item dispute" after a week, but he didn't respond, so I just closed the dispute, got my fees back, and sold the items to the next highest bidders.

I wanted to leave bad feedback for him, but couldn't due to EBay's stupid rules, but who cares, I still got my money. Craigs list? Hmmmnnn, someone here once told me that CL is the last bastion for dodgy sellers who have been thrown off EBay, and considering that there's apparently no regulations at all on CL, I'd be very careful about buying anything. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I've been using kijiji to buy and sell a few things with really good results.  Doesn't seem to have really caught on outside of Canada though.

I always put a higher asking price than I would be happy to sell for, then if they ask to reduce the price, I lower it to the amount I had in mind to sell it for.
Occasionally, they don't ask for reduced price and I get more than expected.

I have used ebay alot of the time, I have not used it in a while now. I normally don't sell anything but have done a couple of times, i had a run in with a lady who thought she knew it all, i sent her a clock she paid $4.00 for and it was sent in alot of bubble wrap ect. the clock in the orgianl box in mint condtion when it left my house could not move in box i sent it in. well i get an email days later saying that it was broke so i said ok send it back i will send u another clock like it or a refund no big deal, until i got the clock back in the mail the clock box was litterly poked to death by a pen or somthing all over it, not the shipping box but the clock box and she didn't put insurance on it i did and even offered her the insurance that i had gotten on it, she started causing me out in email and saying no thanks and left horriable feedback. I don't use it so much now, not to sell, maybe buy something for kids every now and then. as matter of fact i had picked up 2 awsome flower girl dresses off there for my daughter and her friend (my firned of 15 years daughter) who is gonna be in the wedding when we get remarried most likely next year now that another one of my brides maides is pregnate grrr lol. that bridesmaides happens to be my sister he he, last year it was my friend pregante with twins  ::).
