'79 forks on my '78??

A guy on Craigslist has a nice set of '79 750k forks for sale.  Anyone know if they'll fit my '78 750k?  I do not plan on running the stock fender if that makes a difference.  Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

You may need to bolt on the entire front end from the triple trees on down, wheel, brakes and all to make it work.  Many parts changed in 79.
I'm not sure if the steering stem is longer on a 79 either, but the bearing sizes are still the same.

as Alan F. said and as far as I know you would need to use also brake calipers, rotors and wheel.
Hub of your K has 6 holes for brake rotor bolts. 79K has only 5 holes just like the 77/78F2. If you had a 78F2 it would be a direct swap.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the great, detailed information.  Turns out the guy made an error...the forks were from a '78 (not a '79) so I bought them without hesitation.  $50 bucks and they're in good shape!
