CB750 Valve Guides, Whats Involved?
« on: March 12, 2010, 07:04:00 AM »
I have been thinking about valve guides lately.  I want to have new guides installed on my head.  I am getting a serdi valve job with new valves, but I'm not sure which guides to buy and what else is involved.  A local machine shop will be doing the work.  So far I have new valves and new valve seals.  I have not removed the old valves.  I am rebuilding for reliability not performance.  I planned on using the stock springs and keepers with a stock cam.  Which guides should I buy?  Some are oversized others don't seem to be oversized.  I assume with new valves that I would need at least 1 new guide installed so I figure I may as well have them all installed.  I have also heard about sleeving the existing guides.  Is this a viable alternative?  Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Scott

Thnaks for the link.  The Dynoman and the Ape guides are comperable in price but which one would be better for a stock motor?  I have looked further on the Ape site and they have oversize guides as well.  Would I need these or the standard size?  Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

You probably should send Mike Rieck (mrieck) a PM.  He will be able to best answer your question.
