Do you store them outside or inside?

Tyvek is a great material. It's waterproof from the outside, yet, breathes from the inside.
I think you can get it from Home Depot as it is used as a vapor barrier for the outside of your home, under the siding.

you need to be sure that any cover material is soft enough on the inside that it doesnt scratch your paint. for years i just used a heavy duty plastic tarp from northern tool but now that i actually have paint i care about i need to make a change so i can start parking out front.
