Side Cover Question
« on: March 16, 2010, 09:23:37 PM »
Well folks, I pulled the trigger and snagged the '76 CB750F SuperSport for $750.  I'm beginning to put together a to-do list, but first and foremost comes locating some side covers for the bike (it's the only body part that is missing).

I used the search function (perhaps not well enough) and couldn't find an answer.

My question is this: what year side covers will fit my bike?  Am I restricted only to CB750F sidecovers?  I'm just getting into the whole CB scene, so I'm still unfamiliar as to what parts cross over from different models and different years.  If someone could give me a head's up on which other bikes I can pull parts from, that'd be super helpful.

Thanks!

This might give you a head start on replacements. A 750 for $750!!!! it's almost poetry isn't it?

I can't say if the K and F side covers are identical, but if they are, +1 on the lpm side covers. They may be even better than original-- more flexible, less brittle so less likely to crack. I just bought, painted a set for my 750k and totally satisfied with product and service.

The f side covers are hard to find,  I'm geting an LPM set too.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Ive heard good things about LPM.  But stay away from Maier.  The right side cover will not fit.

I dont know if lpm makes the f covers. Be prepared to pay though for a part I think you still have to paint. They are not $200 or something like that but each one will set you back something like $70 I think.

The meiers are cheap and need painting AND trimming. I don't know about the F but you CAN get them to fit the K. I did and they look fairly good other then the crappy paint job on them.

try the lpm, you will be most happy with those but if they do not have the part, dont discount the meier. It will do in a pinch.

Don't forget that LPM also have an ebay store as well. I couldn't find what I wanted on their regular website, but they listed it on their ebay site. I thought it odd, but here you go.

Remember, their prices are in British Pounds which are worth more than US dollars.

Frankendood has gotten some good reviews on his stuff from what I have read.  I would have bought from him if I had noticed his thread before I picked up the lpm's.

I just ordered my 750 K4 side covers from Frankenstuff on Wednesday. Can't wait to get them! Can't say anything about the product itself yet, as I haven't seen them, but he was great to deal with. Shipped my stuff right away!
