cutting frame?
« on: May 07, 2010, 11:34:32 pm »
am thinking about removing rear footrest brackets from my 750 frame. have read here somewhere that after doing so a forum member had to "fill holes in frame" ?? dont get it, are those bracket tubes thru the frame and then welded?
or, another way to put it, is there a hole "punched or bored" in main frame before footrest brackets are inserted, aligned and then welded?

I'm pretty sure the rear footpeg brackets are just welded to the surface of the frame tubing.  You should be able to just cut them off and grind it smooth.

Mystic is right.  I cut the triangles off my K1 and ground it smooth.  There were no holes.
It took 10 years but she's finally done!
