Welcome to Hipo Clive

Nice team you've got!

Member Rob - Voxonda is going to be there too (I hope for him :) )

I am having a break from my own racing in italy and definitely want to make it to Spa this year, but without a bike. I dont think my CB500Four based racer is eligible to any of the classes. No pedigree.....

It's starting to sound like an European SOHC4 forum get together there. Who else is coming?

Hello Clive,

Will be there also. But not managed to get everything covered for the 4h race, so we'll try for next year.
Hope to see some of the guys there.

Rob

Hey cb1100rb,

Well actually it is (very) short day. We have 3 builds on our hands, and that is without the 4hour machine.
It is just not possible to enter, this year. But we will be at Spa. Hope to meet you there!

Cheers, Rob

Hei IOM,

Sure tempting but I am racing next weekend, to be on the road again two weeks later for a 700 miles trip would be a bit much, I am not self employed regretfully.....

Then there's the stupid issue of front brakes, they dont make the 500-4's race here with non-period drums like they do in the UK or NL.

Would you lend my a front wheel then?  ;)

So not really on the cards, but who knows, there are always surprises. Riding at Assen would surely be " a belter" as they say in UK.

Dont worry, will bring good parmigiano reggiano and salame di felino to Spa..

Your best chance will be Franciacorta near Milan on 24/10, all the other are further away. The best Brut - Champenoise is made in the area, if you are into that kind of thing. Just smuggle back a few boxes into the UK and you'll pay for your trip  ;)

The ASI Moto Show on 13-14-15 may is cool too, 60 miles form milan. No racing, only parade but entries are amazing, the Guzzi V8 is often on show, Laverda V6, MV's, you name it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/galpalu/tags/asimotoshow/

What sort of paper work you need to enter the Assen race as a non dutch?

I enter under English race licence, but you would be well at home because its the Ducati Club Races with the Dutch crmc having a round of their championship. I was there last year and there was a few of the center steering Ducatis there from Italy in fact there was a lot of italians there. My road bike is a 916 Biposto so i was well pleased.
Just had a look at the entry for last year...Enrico Cairo from Cadrezzate, Emiliano Lazzarini from Portovaltravaglia, Roberto Airoldi from Galliate to name a few. Ok they were racing in the Ducti races but i am positive that you could race in the classic, not sure about the front brake.
The only reason we have to have a drum front is the bikes have to look a bit like the Hailwood 500, in our class in England there are lots of guys who have discs,
if you are interested i will do all i can to help you get there, and i'm sure if you ever wanted to come to England to race i would be more than happy to help and meet you to make sure all was ok

IOM, the guys you mention are the CR racing team and they do European Supermono on a rather interesting Husky four stokre single in a Honda RS125 frame, they used to race in the vintage meeintgs in italy as our federation doesnt quite knew what to do with them monos....

Will be able to know where I stand regarding Assen only after next week but thanks for your help!

Cheers

It would be fun to do a SOHC meet, but I can't make it the whole weekend. I'm assuming the 4 hours is on sunday, so most of you will be there for that right?

There are only parade series and the GP classes for former GP riders , there is only one race the 4 hours of Spa.
But the series are like races ,everybody is racing on its own way.
Movie , my son Yrjo in front on my 822 in the wet through the most beautifull corner in the world 'Eau Rouge'
