What's the deal with grommets?
« on: April 05, 2010, 07:26:44 AM »
I would like to replace the grommets on my CB750 K1 frame and find there's a lot of confusion. Many suppliers sell them for 72 bikes and later but don't mention 71. I found one that sell 69-71 grommets. Some call them air cleaner grommets. Other side cover grommets. The parts manual says air cleaner for some reason. The part numbers listed are all over the place. They come from Honda, distributors, Minnesota, Thailand and Canada. What's the deal? Is there really a difference in these grommets? They look the same to me. Looks like you need two wide ones and four round ones. Is there more to it than that? Geeesh! :P

I was able to get the six side cover grommets - four round and two oblong - from HondaPartsNation.com for my CB750K4 rebuild.  See if you can find yours there.

Just need some time to get this back together!
