I have one of those books that collects road tests from back in the day and in it, there is an article comparing the '77 550K and 550F.  The 550F bars had the wiring internal, but the K bars had it run outside the bars.  The testers preferred the outside wiring as it allowed for easier changes.

Odd that the factory would have two different setups.

After reading posts last night, couldn't sleep until I saw if bars would work. Don"t know why, but everything fits like a glove. Maybe they were 550 bars after all. All I had to do was drill the hole for the pin. Maybe NOS bars don"t have the locating pin hole. Thanks to all.

If you try for these, watch one of the bidders(ubikkibu) I've gone for items before and gotten beat out by him. Don't know who he is but he's in there quite often.  Bill                   I just ran into this guy again! Pulled up his profile, 38 buys in 7 days. I think he is trying to build a 550 from scratch!
What is the deal with this guy? Have been beat out on several items and seems to pay whatever it takes.

My guess is that he's using an auction sniper service. It won't garauntee a winning bid, but they bid at the last second, so no one else has time to bid after.

Has anyone thought to CONTACT this fella? Could be he doesn't even know about this place, and would be a real asset. Also, you might be able to get him to back off on some things.
This is pretty much how Hondachopper.com was created. Two guys, always bidding on the same stuff, and always fighting for top bid. Finally, one wrote to the other and proposed a truce. They would convene on different parts each had found, and they would decide between them who had more need/want for it, and the other wouldn't bid against him. They found some others this way, and decided to start a website for their interests. This was back in 2000, and they're still going strong.
Anyway, give the guy a shout. At least you won't be speculating anymore. :D

Apparently he doesn't want everything that bad.  I just beat him on a bid for a '75 550K seat a couple of weeks ago.  You just have to want it more! ;D
