Jaffa's 400, fun and work
« on: April 19, 2010, 06:53:28 PM »
OK so the 650 is laid up awaiting a clutch cable, I'm sans bike and having just fitted a new clutch cable to Jaffa's pink machine I felt entitled...nay obligated to ensure it worked right. ;D
This wee 400 twin goes like stink, maybe not as fast as my old two strokes but boy is it fun.
One thing I quickly noticed was without a screen in front of me I seem to have better control of the bike (I had missed this but not realised it) and the twins are like electric items i.e. power on power off, shut the throttles too quick and you might as well be standing on the brake!
Twitchy twitchy throttle too, you are constantly working your right wrist to balance the bikes power.
Brakes are not much to write home about, they work...if you give them enough notice of your request to stop. :D
This bike has 6 gears but I only found 6th once and that was at highway speed, spend most of your time in 4th or 5th, loves cruising at 80 kmph but will grudgingly exceed 100 kpmh.
At that speed though it feels like you are riding a bicycle with a turbo charged rocket under it. ;D
She is gonna be soooo mad when she comes home from work and knows I've put 30 miles on her bike ha ha  ha. ;D

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
