1971 cb500 tach problem
« on: April 20, 2010, 01:28:52 PM »
What would cause the tach on my 1971 CB500 to be pegged all the way up to 12?  We found this in a barn 2 weeks ago having been stored for over 20 years and have been able to get it running with very little trouble.  My son has been working on it as time allows but we haven't addressed the tach problem.

does it move at all or is it just stuck there? sounds like it is in the tach itself.

it doesn't move much.  It wiggles a little when the engine is running.  Pretty much pegged all they way up.

i would think its in the tach itself but there may be someone else who has had this happen...
