I've been listening to mellow stuff lately, Fleet Foxes and the like, but every once in awhile you really need to put some hard #$%* in and crank it up...
Godhead was friggin awesome live
there's punk
(who doesn't know Bad Religion? You, yes you, climb out of your hole. Get NOFX while you're at it.)
and then there's punk with #$%*in TEETH
I was lucky enough to napster a whole mishmash cd of tragedy before I moved to OR, but have since lost it and if anyone knows where I can steal or buy another one, I'd be psyched, but I haven't seen much of them 'cept on youtube.

I LOVE THIS THREAD!

Hearing new music is the best thing ever. I rememeber years ago when The Sex pistols did a reunion tour, Gravity Kills and Stabbing Westward opened for them. Never heard of them, but the next day went out and bought both of their cd's (Stabbing westward and gravity Kills).

Hearing new music is like a step in your evolution.

That'd be really #$%*ing awesome if it was the same band, C... but I seriously have no idea. I'd think Tragedy would be bigger or older or something if I was able to d/l it on Nappy with Skinlab etc (back before you kids had yer torrents etc...) how long has Paul's tragedy been around?

well #$%* that'd be creepy. I don't think he really intends people to come by and stare or anything while they're practicing.

So, I'm sitting on the toilet and Kit busts in on me to tell me about some tragic band from PDX and they play in a garage... and I'm thinking... all the PDX bands are like that. What is the big deal?

Ok, so I'm caught up now. I still don't care. I'm sorry. They sound like they hooked up a pitbull's nipples to a car battery and then made him the lead singer. No offense but grunt screaming isn't my style. The music part itself is pretty good though. Kit plays that kind of stuff when I'm not home for a reason.  ::)

The Tragically Hip, known affectionately to we Canucks as simply "The Hip"
First, "Locked in the trunk of a car".......... life through the eyes of a serial killer.

The second one, "New Orleans is Sinking"  was written in the early 90's... so long before Katrina, when they were there they were struck by the folks living below water level behind the levy's, still a great rock groove. Brings to mind Zep "When The Levy Breaks"

I read you dude. Can never have enough variety. I'm always on the hunt for new music. Don't know why I didn't think of this earlier hah.
