Retro, do they have Kettlecorn in Oz? Might give that a go next time you're changing your oil  ;)

Believe it or not, i don't eat crap like that, The wife and I cook all our own food and virtually never eat rubbish like popcorn, potato chips, ice cream, canned food full of preservatives or anything that doesn't come from a garden or farm, i know it sounds a bit boring but i'm healthy and thats what counts... ;)

Maybe it a US spelling but the subject of this thread seems to be apt considering the view of most of the old - oops, more experienced members. No harm intended.
Type "synthetic" into Google and see what creepy stuff gets listed.

I read  that pop corn is healthy!! It must be made with oil, not microwave.
Next question is. Which oil?
I recommend that we start a pop corn cooking oil thread

Synthetic might not be the choice here. Maybe a good idea to check with Red Line if they have a good alternative. Amsoil might know how to as well.

I read  that pop corn is healthy!! It must be made with oil, not microwave.

Popcorn is as healthy as the corn it is derived from. (non GMO or imbued with pesticides, etc.)  Microwave is ok too, if it is not the popular commercial offerings with the cheapest oil substitute they can sell you hidden inside a sealed bag.
Olive oil is likely the best oil you can consume.  Yes, you can micro wave popcorn in an ordinary lunch bag with some olive oil in it.

But, there was that air popped craze, which was likely the most healthy version of popcorn available.  Problem is, that the consumer's taste buds don't appreciate bland.  And eating guilt free popcorn is about as fun as obeying the speed limit laws.

I prefer my oil to be sin free, derived from virgin dino oil trees from Neverland.

I noticed in Dave Silvers shop the other week that they had semi synthetic 10w 40 on the shelf and DS told me that it was recommended for my 550, so I got some, it's made in Switzerland of all places.

Aha... Motorex... I have that brand in my fork, 10W/30
I have Red Line 20W-50 motorcycle oil mixed with 20W-60 in engine.  This withstand heat better too. My engine runs rather hot.
The higher amount of zinc made my clutch to work better, less dragging when cold. Castrol 4T was not my engine's favourite.

Watch out for the pop corn monsters that appear (pop-up) when someone start to talk about the forbidden....  ::)
what oil in our old engines that will work bad with wrong stuff.... :o
