Hydraulic brake switch
« on: April 26, 2010, 06:44:29 PM »
I'm going through the front brakes on my CB500 and was wondering about the hydraulic brake switch. Do these things wear out/go bad? Is it OK to clean them out with brake parts cleaner?
I can find lots of replacement switches in 1/8" NPT. Is the Honda switch a metric thread?

I've asked a similar question before & someone suggested this.

They also list a 10x1 thread, but I think ours use the one in the link.
I'm not sure if there's room for it in the end of the m/cyl or if it would have to go down on the block where the two hoses join the block holding the original switch.
Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators.
We haven't met yet.

I saw that but I'm not really sure how it's meant to be used with an otherwise stock brake system.
MikesXS has a switch. I was hoping to find some place that had stock replacement hoses AND the switch so I could get what I need in one order.
