Topic: Plate on neck says 12/71 but PA title says 73 wtf?

My title for my bike that I bought and have not registered yet says its a 1973 but the plate on the neck says a production date of 12/71. What model do I actually have? The vin number on the bike matches the title so I dont know what to believe. Im trying to figure out exactly what model cb500 I actually have. Any ideas?

Often, the year the dealer first sold the bike was entered on the title.  My guess is your bike sat in the showroom a few years.

When ordering parts, the K1 is the important info, not the year.

If its 12/71 it should be CB500-2000001 upwards. If it starts with a 1 its a K0

My 79 was sitting in Japan waiting to be delivered and was only registered finally in 1982 so it shows as an 82.....those parts don't fit.
