Early head gasket on later jugs ??? (CB750)
« on: May 03, 2010, 03:00:15 PM »
I saw someone say they just cut the 8 holes bigger for the oil flow gaskets.....but I have an OEM early gasket and the hole punch I bought didn't get through the metal inner of the gasket....any other thoughts on how to enlarge the hole?....or just put it on top of the rubbers?....or get the right gasket ?....any thoughts?

Thanks

Steve

Definately wouldn't put it on top of the rubbers.  Me, I'd get the right gasket.

See this link.  It's definately a bugger to cut through, I made a cutter from some kind of furniture bit i found in a shop out here, cut some teeth in it and put a nut and bolt through the end, put it in a drill and used the old gasket as a guide to drill through.
