If the price is right...might as well go with them....if you can't make it right, then later on you can have the inch or so extra length machined off by any competent machine shop. ;)

higher front and rear means more ground clearance in the turns!  But, could affect your kickstand length some.

i need a longer speedo cable, the bike handles and feels completely different, center stand dose not touch the ground, and the side stand is just long enough.

Anthony,

Glad you got it back together quickly...
The photos picked up the color shift you achieved  with the purple/plum pearl over the black base. Nice.

The new handling will take some getting used to...lots of practice and including emergency stops etc. required...
:) ;) ;D

My logic is you need to know what the bike will do before you are in a situation where it might do it...

thanks you hit it. with my experience on a bike i did not realize how the bike would react in the rain. and now its different again.

At least with the old stock compounds the 550 had a reputation for jumping up and biting in the rain; as the front had the propensity to lock up after burning through the water on the disc. A drilled rotor lessens that propensity.
I think the 750s didn't have that rep either.
From that perspective the 550 isn't a good bike for a low-time rider.
Drilled rotors aren't that expensive and dual front disc and give you hand-stand like racing capable front braking.

they look similar to my '78s. they dont have gaiters so they are later(could be wrong). i dont know when they went to the little dust boot instead of the gaiter.

put a fillter on it. It is supposed to run back into your air filter.
