Wiring help
« on: May 22, 2010, 12:53:33 PM »
I'm putting the 71 CB750 wiring back and I have an 'extra' wire. I have a brown wire with female connector coming from the harness into the bucket but there's nothing to plug into it. 71 wiring diagram and wiring FAQ say that brown is Tail Light Power (Main Switch-Tail Light). So why do I have a brown female wire dumping into the headlight bucket?? Anyone know?

Goes to the brake splitter below the headlight with the brake switch. Just my guess.

Tail light power should come from the right handle light switch(comes on with headlights), or the ignition switch(runs tail light when ignition switch is in "park" position).
Go metric, every inch of the way!

Yeah thanks.
I'm looking at old man honda's K1 wiring diagram: -> http://oldmanhonda.com/MC/wiring750K1.html
And I don't see anything from the right switch to the tail light. The brown wire goes from the ignition. So I can't figure why I'd have a brown female in my bucket. Remember the K1 headlight doesn't come on unless you turn it on.

The brown female would connect to the 'city light' 5w extra bulb in the headlight reflector on European models, so it's spare in your loom.....
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,
