Did they expand the range of the "sandcast" serial numbers lately?

Much like in the automotive world where the term "frame off" is used for everything including uni-body construction cars, sandcast is now used as the standard adjective. Shame as the term quickly gets diluted and only the hardcore will remain aware of its real meaning.

Actually, I think that what this means is that the bike in my avatar was 12th in line behind this bike on the Honda production line 36 years ago...It's all a bit spooky...    My frame is 12300....This eBay bike looks as if it wound up in Sacramento, mine went to S.F, same color, same state (I think). Ahhhh, the power of the internet...

I like the fact that the seller stated clearly in the description that the reserve price is $2500, yet so far it already has ten bids well under that amount.   And one of these einstein's ebay name is "sandcastonly"! 

I used to get mad when sellers would either not do any research before listing a bike/part, or would knowingly list something deceptively, but now I just sit back and enjoy watching the fools climb over each other for the privelege of getting screwed.

When bidding on an item, even when the reserve is notified and your "maximum bid" is above the reserve, does it not depend upon who else is bidding to move the price up (ie it doesn't go staright ot the reserve if your max is higher) ?

I've noticed this in the past.

If your maximum bid is over the reserve price, the bid automatically jumps up to the reserve.  These people are just playing around.

Sandcast models went up to only around 10007000, all built in 1969. On ebay, pratically everybody wants to advertise their stuff as Sandcast, even the non-CB750s!.
