That's a bargain mate, seriously, if you don't want it, I'll send you the money and you can buy it for me! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Well that'd be nice, I bought a CB750K0 from a member here in 2007 and he airfreighted it out to me, but I've also got a sister living in LA, so I'm sure we could work something out! ;D

The oil in frame Triumphs really don't do it for me, but a pre '71 machine would be a lot more than 2K!

If it runs well, and the motor is somewhat quiet, it would be a fun bike to ride and play around with.

Except for the black paint, it looks complete and undicked with.

Picture it with a lower bar, and you on it...... ;D

If it were mine, I would pull it apart for a top end rebuild on general principle. I would put lower compression pistons in it, and look around for a single carb manifold set up. They run soooooo much nicer with a bit lower compression, and a single carb.

That said, it should run ok as is. They are simple engines to work on, and parts are affordable. Your budds will be amazed when you tickle the carbs to get her to light.

They are fun bikes to ride, handle well. By the time the late T140 750's were being built, Triumph has them pretty well sorted.

Find out it's history, take a buddy and go see it, here it run. Make him an offer he can't refuse.... :D

I am going after this bike this afternoon, so just picture me on it  ;D

just kidding. I saw that one too. I think he had it listed before but this is a lower price. If I am correct the shifter and brake are on the opposite side from most bikes so that may get confusing. If you have room I would go and get it.

In 1975 or 1976 the feds passed a regulation that all motorcycles sold in the U.S. had to shift from the left side. So a 1978 should be a left side shift.

Triumph numbers should be identical or its been played with---not a problem if all paperwork is to hand

got an email and here is what i got

I had replied to your questions in a previous e-mail. It must have not gone through. I bought this bike in 1997, in houston texas. Went through it, got it running and rode around Houston a lot. Retired and moved up here in 06 and just got the bike running again last spring. When i got it going last year i realized it would not shift from 3rd to 4th or 5th gears. so it only shifts the first 3 gears. I believe this is an easy fix. I have had a quad bypass and pacemaker so i will not be starting the bike anymore. This is a 32 year old bike and will require some maintenance, it is all there, with fairly new tires.

with this problem i dont think its worth spending the 2000 on, what do you guys think
