Topic: NEW MTC 67.5MM (915cc) PISTONS & CYLINDERS. WHATS IT WORTH ?

  I'm thinking of selling this kit.  MTC 67.5 mm  915 cc's  10 1/2 to 1 comp.  What would you guy's be willing to pay
  for the set ?  It's missing the piston pin clips as i was going to use spirol locks or teflon buttons.  Please be serious

I gave $700 for my NOS Henry Abe 900 kit maybe 3 years ago when no others were available. Now we've convinced Big Jay and Dynoman to have more modern stuff made. That's your main consideration.

The last lot of sleeves I bought from LA Sleeve were about $85 US each and gauging by what I paid MTC (a couple of years ago now) for for a set of 72mm pistons, rings, pins and buttons -     (The piston kit) $200 US.
If you worked on around about $500 US for the lot, I think that you wouldn't be too far from the mark.

 Thanks guy's .  Considering A.P.E.'S  970 KIT IS $900.00 plus tax. I'd think around $650.00 should be a good price.

The sleeves that Blue has there are more than likely Part# H-26 LA Sleeves for the "900" (67mm) kit.
OD on those is 72mm.

Measure the sleeve dia and lip length/dia.

 I have a worn 970 cylinder. I bought new sleeves, with my fingers crossed, hoping they may drop in.. but they were 25 thou smaller. So they will go in a new cylinder.

 Its nice to know you can go to an available overbore, if you wear it out or damage it..

Here is an LA Sleeve order form with sizes for the 67mm sleeve.

Looks like its for 66mm..

 At 67mm, it only has .080 thou meat per side, no second chance on them puppies...

There's still 2.5mm (.100") of wall thickness left at 67mm. (72-67/2)
These are listed by LA Sleeve for 67mm.
I think it is about as far as you can go before cutting out the top case.
A motor I pulled apart several years ago, had 67mm CB360 pistons with the small end of the stock rods resized for the 16mm pins.
This guy always pushed the motor as hard as he could on the strip and somehow it stayed together.
That was back in the good old days when mission critical was to just get out there regardless and things weren't that serious.
Good luck more than good management but he was on a tight budget and had fun and everyone else got some entertainment.

Yeah, my math was off. I was wondering why they were roughed out for 66mm not 67mm.. but they may be an off the shelf part. I keep forgetting that those can run without cutting the cases, once they are cut.. go a lot bigger..
