Betty Bloo Slideshow.
« on: March 30, 2012, 08:15:45 am »
Work still in progress.

New parts I bought 10 years ago to get this baby roadworthy again.

Frame...old was crablike.
Swinging arm I got somewhere..can't remember.
Triple trees used from somewhere. A friend of my bro's gave me a box of CB500 bits, maybe they were in there.
Fork tubes from an F1 which were different to mine(F2 weren't available). A friend modified them to fit.
Hagon shocks.
Grab rail.
Points cover.
Alternator Honda cover.
Front rim and spokes
A used rear wheel.
Speedo/Tacho chrome bottoms.
Throttle tube
Motad 4-1
Tappet covers
Chain
Chainguard
Tyres
Carb rubbers complete with the part of the airbox they attach to.
Front fender
Heavy duty clutch springs/plates
Seat
Flake Sapphire Blue Side panels

Nice work!  A long time coming!

The color is Candy Sapphire Blue, available from Don the Dirt Biker.  His paints are very good, and a nice match for stock.

I've been through this. I found out it's flake and I can't get the paint in the UK.  :(

Thanks guys. It's coming on slow due to lack of finances. And now another problem. The threads in the fork bottoms that hold the fender don't exist anymore. Hopefully a friend of mine who knows a guy may be able to fit inserts or possibly weld.

Some more progress. She rides.

Hondaman ignition fitted.

And the smaller battery that fits beside the ignition module. This fits in on it's side.

Well done, she sounds so very 550!! and healthy. When God made time He made plenty of it, so don't rush it now.

Love the colour of the panels. I would have thought a good paint supplier could match the colour/flake?

I really thought you were joking when you said she hadn't run for 20 years.

Great work. Better still to keep all the parts together through two house moves and such a time span.

Keep it up.

Cheers,

Mick.
