just got my 750 running after it sat in a guys garage for 2 years, i then noticed oil on the ground beneath it. i found what seems to be a vent tube that i traced to the top of the oil tank. what can be the problem?

Any chance the oil is overfull? Keep in mind these bikes that sit a while will allow oil to drain from the oil tank into the crankcase. The people then check the oil level on a cold motor and then add oil which overfills it. Then it comes out the vent tube. Best to check the oil after the motor is warm.
